Samantha the Scottie Mix

Samantha: Tiny, sweet, cuddly, house-trained, gets along with dogs, cats, kids, and so pretty in pink–What more could you want? Samantha is only 11 pounds, a cute wheaten Scottie mix. North Texas Scottie Rescue’s vet estimates her at 9 months old.

“A young man in his 20s found her in an open field by Joe Pool Lake,” says NTSR’s Margy Tucker. “She stood out like a sore thumb and looked scared, but was friendly so he picked her up and had her checked for a microchip (none found). He wanted to keep her, but his roommates didn’t.” NTSR took over.

Samantha has a beginning case of heartworms, but is so mildly affected the vet says treating her with regular monthly Heartguard will take care of the problem. For more information on Samantha contact northtexasscottierescue@gmail.com . To apply, complete a TSRF application at texasscottierescue.com and specify Samantha. We will forward the application to NTSR. Samantha’s adoption fee is $450.  (Photo from NTSR)

Shay the Scottie with WSRH

Shay the Scottie
Shay the Scottie

Shay the Scottie

Shay in Houston needs a home. This Scottie has her eye on you! Her folks are being transferred overseas and can’t take her so Westie & Scottie Rescue Houston took over. Shay is 8 1/2 years old. She likes cats, but isn’t too fond of other dogs. She would be best in an all adult home. If you would like to be considered to adopt Shay, please fill out an application at www.wsrh.com .

“It is a good thing Shay came to WSRH because she needlessly has been suffering from ‘skin allergies’ all her life,” says WSRH’s Maggie Escriva. “Unfortunately, her people did not know that her bad skin was caused by a diet of low quality food and so they tried to treat it as an allergy and gave her medications rather than changing her diet. Shay is now on a good quality, grain free food, and her foster mom is giving her regular anti-fungal baths. In a few weeks, Shay will have her teeth cleaned and then will be ready for her forever home.”

If your dog has skin issues and you would like some help, please send an email to westiehouston@gmail.comWSRH is expert at solving skin problems. Ask them for new ideas.

Adopted- Violet – Cairn Terrier

violet

Violet is a Cairn Terrier, maybe two or three years old. She was running in the streets in Odessa, TX, picked up by a good Samaritan and was supposedly a Scottie. First surprise: she was not a Scottie. Unfortunately Facebook and shelter postings did not turn up her owner. Second surprise: two puppies born in short order eight weeks ago!

Violet has been fully vetted, is up to date on shots and will be spayed this week. WTSR thinks Violet should be an only dog. Contact Linda Hill in Midland at llhill0@suddenlink.net if you might be interested in adopting Violet. To apply for Violet, complete the application at http://texasscottierescue.com . and specify Violet. (Photos from WTSR)
